Felt I should chuck something up about the wall for good measure.
Here is a plan that Michelle, Amy and I came up with last week and never got the chance to share.

Basically we thought we could use the panels the make the wall as divisions and fill each with examples of that subject e.g design that politically based.  Then we could size everything within each division depending on how much it fits within that area ( so for example a design that's really politically oriented would be larger than one that was less so)

Adding to that we could have some kind of horizontal/vertical split where we separate art from design or traditional design practice from more modern concepts.

Soooooo.... what do ya think?

designs

I am hoping you can see these designs this time! Please work! Pleeeeeease!!!

With both designs I tried to create one solid image instead of two separate ideas: font and image. I also tried to incorporate negative and positive space...

please comment and let me know what you think :D

Hello All : )

Took a visit to cj's music works in town and the owner, Charlie, gave me ten drumskins for free! They're a little bit smaller than a bass drumskin (these are 16inches and a bass is normally 20inches) but hey, we now have some drumskins : )

eliana's new designs

YAY SUCCESS!!

the files finally uploaded... 1 hour later!

I have used the transmutational circle as the basis for these ideas, I also experimented with black letter and have tried to make the type and image one idea not two separate ideas.

let me know what you think of these designs.

cheers!

Isotype

This site 'Isotype Institute' is resource for examples of Neurath's Isotype system. Some examples below...

See also the University of Readings project 'Isotype Revisted'.

Gerd Arntz

Gerd Arntz was the graphic designer who created Otto and Marie Neurath's Isotypes. This site has an amazing catalogue of them.

RSA Animate - Changing Education Paradigms

This is a really interesting little video which someone has made to sort of visually explain a talk by Ken Robinson. Not quite what we're doing, but related I thought. It's worth watching/listening to as a well... esp if you are a student.

Information Graphics

I swiped this from that blog we looked at today, Information is Beautiful.

I thought of the wall when looking at this. I don't think it's specifically 'good looking', but it does work well in it's simplicity. Everything 'means' something... where it is, what colour it is, and how big it is, is all part of the reading of the information.

Hi everyone.
Since we need to get some drum skins to exhibit our logos, I thought I'd have a snoop around to see what music stores are open. As it turns out they are all in the CBD (sooo probably a no-go) expect for one store, "Sedley wells music works". So I've sent them an email asking if they have any drum-skins and if they do, how much. Hopefully they'll get back to me real soon so we can have an idea of cost. Also since its just by ricc mall, we could go there in person and see if we can get a group discount or something.

Hey sorry guys but I had forgotten I already have a staff meeting on at 10am on Thursday... sooooo it'll have to be 9am again. Yep bummer. But it's literally the only free slot of time I have for the next few days.
